Each year the graduating class gives a parting gift to the New York School of Interior Design. This year the Class of 2011 decided the library would benefit from the class gift, and library staff were thrilled.
With the money the graduating class raised, we’ve purchased a collection of almost 50 books, focusing on various building types. The recent graduates know just how important books on these subjects are for thesis research and Contract III among others, and books on healthcare design, museum design, and retail and office design were among those purchased.
These are excellent books, with plans and case studies galore – there are even a couple ebooks. Each book purchased with funds from the class gift has a letterpress printed bookplate inside the front cover, so when you see it, you can thank the Class of 2011.
